Reflecting on 2023: A Year in Review

The past year for LNP Audit and Assurance (LNP) has been nothing short of inspiring, filled with milestones and collective accomplishments. As we look back on the year that was, we reflect on the significant moments of the year that have defined our journey. It's incredible how our 10-year anniversary celebration, held in November 2022 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, still resonates within our team and propelled the Firm seamlessly into 2023.

In May, we hosted our friends, colleagues, and clients at our Annual Financial Reporting Update. Hosted by the renowned industry expert Carmen Ridley, the event received overwhelming praise and marked a successful day filled with insightful discussions. Its success has fuelled our excitement when we host again in 2024, promising more engaging discussions and learning. Stay tuned to hear more on this in early 2024.

Within our ranks, the appointment of David Sinclair as a new Director was a standout moment. With four decades of experience providing audit & assurance services to a diverse range of clients, David is a highly valued addition to our team. Another highlight was the end-of-financial-year celebration. The Melbourne and Sydney teams joined to bring energy, enthusiasm, and healthy competition to the day as we raced at Hyper Karting in Moore Park, followed by a team lunch. These moments weren't just about fun; they were opportunities to strengthen our bonds and foster teamwork.

In a significant stride toward sustainability, we proudly announced our achievement of becoming 100% carbon neutral. In a world grappling with sustainability inaction political intransigence and infighting, LNP recognises it is up to each of us to act urgently on our own behalf, for the good of our business, our people, our stakeholders, and all of our families, friends, and descendants. This milestone resonates deeply with our commitment to responsible business practices and environmental stewardship.

Celebrating diversity and empowerment remained a priority throughout the year. Events like Business Chicks Presents Jacinta Ardern and the Business Chicks International Women's Day Breakfast at the ICC Sydney, allowed us to connect, learn, and strengthen our network within the community, with members of the Sydney and Melbourne teams attending several key events and proudly representing our values, fostering meaningful connections, and championing inclusivity.

However, amid these achievements, another pivotal moment unfolded as we ventured into new territory. Opening our first office in Perth marked a strategic move toward further expanding our services, reaching and servicing more clients across diverse landscapes.

The pinnacle of our year was the Annual Firm Conference, held in November. Teams from Manila and Melbourne flew into Sydney for three knowledge-packed days. We dived deep into the essential topics, from audit planning risk assessment and ASA 315, to a CFD broker's perspective on the industry, to cybersecurity, and a review of the firms strategy and progress, each of which fostered a culture of teamwork, learning and professional growth. Between the educational sessions, we paused for the Melbourne Cup and wrapped up the 3 day event with a team-building challenge at the Sydney Cooking School followed by a festive Christmas get together at The Oaks Hotel in Neutral Bay for the perfect balance of education and camaraderie.

As we look back on 2023, it's humbling to see how every event and achievement has played a role in shaping the LNP narrative. They were each examples of our unwavering support and deep value for our incredible team. Each success story, every milestone achieved, and every event attended underscores our commitment to nurturing our team, empowering their endeavours, and fortifying our shared journey toward a brighter and more impactful future.

Wishing everyone happy holidays and eagerly anticipate reconnecting upon our return in 2024.
